Environmental acoustic simuations became a real necessity since in many contries noise is concidered as one of the biggest disturbancies, but unfortunately, many kinds of heavy equipment produce noise excessively. New severe anti-nise regulations are adopted by urban authorities. These include in particular the deployment of noise sources nearby sensible locations, such as hospitals, schools, etc.

In this study, noise level is simulated due to presence of big electric generator. The study is conducted for a big electricity company, its results are submitted to the urban authority together with all other aspects related to deployment of such equipment. The model consits of terrain elevation data obtained from airplane photographs; the simulation is performed by ray tracing mathod of Raynoise software, since it is the only method which permits modelling of such large domains.
